Demand for Damballa's Automated Breach Detection Drives Record Q4 and FY 2014

Damballa, a leader in automated breach detection, today announced record growth and revenue for Q4 and full-year 2014. Damballa Failsafe delivers advanced threat protection and containment for active threats that bypass all security prevention layers. The company delivered record quarters throughout the year, on the heels of a record 2013, delivering over 50% bookings and revenue growth for 2014. Bookings from new customers also grew over 100% year over year. Damballa saw its average deal size quadruple as customers begin much broader, enterprise-wide deployments of breach detection.

Damballa saw significant global expansion in 2014. The company brought on customers, channel partners and global consulting firms across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America. New customers included those in banking and financial services, education, healthcare, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, transportation and logistics, retail, telecommunications and technology verticals.

Damballa foresees continued growth and demand for its automated breach detection solution. According to the National Association of Corporate Directors, "addressing cybersecurity should be a top priority for Boards and senior management." Mark Weatherford, principal at The Chertoff Group and leading cybersecurity expert, also agrees, stating, "CEOs and company boards are no longer putting their heads in the sand when it comes to understanding today's threat environment and the need to invest in protecting critical enterprise assets. Organizations must shift their mindset and invest in capabilities that focus on discovering and responding to cyber breaches as quickly as possible in order to limit damage and prevent further consequences."

Born for breach defense, Damballa has been a pioneer in advanced detection since 2006 and counts some of the world's largest enterprises across four continents as customers. Damballa's Center for Breach Detection has visibility into a quarter of the world's DNS traffic and 43% of North American mobile traffic, with over half a billion devices feeding its intelligent system. This allows Damballa Failsafe to rapidly discover infections with certainty, enabling prioritized incident response and refocusing of security experts to the areas of greatest risk to an enterprise.

"The market is rapidly shifting its mindset away from a prevention-bias towards rapid detection and response," said David Scholtz, CEO of Damballa. "Since 2006, we've been continually enhancing our advanced detection platform with an unmatched data set and intelligence to find unknown threats. With the recent spate of severe breaches, forward-looking enterprises are choosing Damballa at an unprecedented rate to help accelerate their incident response efforts and keep them out of the headlines."
