CSI Enhances WatchDOG Elite Solution to Simplify Compliance with Latest Healthcare Regulations

As the first full year following the official roll-out of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) comes to a close, healthcare providers and insurers are just beginning to realize the complexities of new and revised regulations and mandates associated with the law. In order to address specific requirements to verify the identity of individuals and healthcare providers enrolling in Medicare and Medicaid coverage under the ACA, Computer Services, Inc. (CSI (News - Alert)) (OTCQX: CSVI) has introduced new enhancements to its WatchDOG® Elite solution. These enhancements provide greater capabilities for facilitating due diligence processes as well as preventing fraud related to the more stringent regulations introduced by the ACA.

This latest WatchDOG Elite update enables users to quickly and easily validate both Social Security Numbers (SSN) against the Social Security Administration's Death Master File and National Provider Identifiers (NPI) against the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System registry, in accordance with federal and state Medicare and Medicaid enrollment procedures. Rather than having to run SSNs and NPIs against each database separately, WatchDOG Elite enables users to complete verification through a single platform interface that tracks and summarizes activity. It also provides printable reports for each check to ensur regulators have all the necessary records during audits. Additionally, CSI secures, manages and updates the list data, removing the onus of complicated data management from its customers.

"According to a recent report from Fox Business, more than 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 each day in the U.S., further increasing the millions of seniors relying on Medicare for health insurance coverage," said Paul Koziarz, president and general manager of CSI Regulatory Compliance. "With Medicare open enrollment season upon us and new identification verification requirements being dictated by the government, CSI is striving to streamline compliance with these new regulatory requirements through the updates to WatchDOG Elite, while enabling our customers to fully meet the stringent standards of today's regulators."

WatchDOG Elite offers a comprehensive portfolio of due diligence and regulatory compliance capabilities to assist organizations with adherence to increasing and changing government regulations and risk mitigation efforts. In addition to the newly added functionalities for NPI and SSN verification, WatchDOG Elite provides users with an array of robust tools and options to simplify governance, risk and compliance processes across the enterprise, including:

  • OFAC and sanctioned countries screening and review and resolve workflows;
