Witham Health Services Installs Carestream's Vue Cardio PACS With Zero-Footprint Viewer for Remote Image Access

Witham Health Services (Lebanon, Ind.) recently installed a CARESTREAM Vue Cardio PACS with a zero-footprint viewer that allows on-site or remote clinicians, cardiologists and referring physicians to access imaging data, reports and patient information. This viewer utilizes a native browser and supports smart phone and tablet mobile devices.

"We selected Vue Cardio PACS because it supports fully featured viewing, reading and management for all types of cardiology exams including echo cardiograms, ECG, cath lab and nuclear cardiology exams on a single workstation," said Jason Scott, Witham's Director of Imaging and Cardiac Diagnostics.

"When we evaluated cardiology PACS systems, we discovered many suppliers needed dedicated workstations for specific exams and also required multiple servers," Scott said. "Carestream's Vue Cardio PACS is an integrated system that offers a single server, a single workstation and a single worklist for all types of cardiology exams. It also delivers advanced reading and measurement tools and structured reporting with an electronic signature. All of these capabilities can enhance both convenience and productivity."

Witham is licensed for 80 beds and has cardiologists on site during business hours to assess patients, implant stents and perform other procedures. Patients requiring surgery are referred to other hospitals in the area.

"The viewer delivers immediate, secure access to cardiology imaging studies by on-site and off-site cardiologists. This gives our cardiologists a fast, easy way to share images with cardiologists at other hospitals for consultations and it's also a convenient way to send imaging studies to cardiologists for after-hours review," he explained. Carestream's Vue Cardio PACS streamlines enterprise and remote access to medical images for faster diagnosis, reporting, storage and distribution of clinical data. The Web-based PACS consolidates review of echocardiography, cardiac cath, ECG, nuclear cardiology and hemodynamic results with easy comparison of priors for better patient care.
