SSD innovator Memblaze launches new PCIe flash card; EBlaze3 sets the bar for latency, capacity and flexibility

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) London, UK - - Memblaze Technology Co. Ltd, a leading provider of flash storage solutions, is bringing its new-generation PCIe flash card, the EBlaze3, to Europe. This will be the first time the technology is available outside China. Designed to overcome some of most critical storage issues, including capacity, flexibility and latency jitter, the introduction of EBlaze3, added to a new strategic appointment, makes it the perfect time for Memblaze to enter the European market.

Memblaze already ships the PBlaze 3 in volume and has just announced the doubling of its capacity points where now they can scale to 2.4TB in HHHL and a massive 4.8TB in FHHL single slot format.

EBlaze3 is a game changer: a new version of the PBlaze3 card exclusively for, and targeted at, Hyperscale and OCP (Open Compute Project market) its optimised core algorithm and improved technical architecture offer an ultra-low latency of 14?s that almost reaches memory access speed. It provides the customer with the ability to define and alter key settings to ensure optimum performance in their specific applications and platforms.

EBlaze3 is designed to wipe out latency jitter, eliminating variations in latency and particularly benefitting users whose industries demand guaranteed high performance and where any delay can be critical. Its capacity points mirror those of the already successful PBlaze3 It provides the lowest CPU load in the industry, its host system memory usage comes in at 1MB per PCIe SSD card, and its industry-leading read and write capabilities reach 750,000 IOPS random read / 265,000 IOPS random write and 3.2GB/s sequential read, 2.5GB/s sequential write.

Offering 50 capacity configurations, the card provides users with a real choice over the size of card to choose, based on their storage needs. And it's cost effective too: the fact it's device-based makes for very low system overheads.

Memblaze, headquartered in China, is one of a new breed of Solid State Disk (SSD) vendors. With a mission to make data processing faster and smarter, the company has already attracted investor attention, including that of Bertelsmann Asia (leading), ZTEVC, Dingxing Fund, PMC, Infiniti and others. Its latest round of funding raised USD 20 million in August 2014. The funds will be used to research and develop a new generation of innovative flash storage products, expand the company's geographical reach, and recruit new talent.

Today Memblaze also announced the appointment of VP of EMEA Business Development Ron MacLeod, the vendor's first European recruit; former SanDisk EMEA sales director. Ron (and Memblaze) will be in Frankfurt at Powering the Cloud to share the strategy behind the company's move into the region, showcase some of its ground breaking kit and discuss plans to work with the channel to take the technology to market in various EMEA countries.

Some of the technology on show at Powering the Cloud will include: Piano Key Technology: a unique expansion technology which offers 50 capacity options for users ranging from 600GB to 4.8TB.

MemSmooth: maintains consistently low latency with no jitter. Memblaze's Latency Smoothing and Ultra-Low Latency Wearleveling on device-based technology offer lower latency, as well as decreased CPU idle time and datacentre running costs.

Ron said: "Moving into Europe is a strategic step for Memblaze. The whole region is a hugely important market for us and that's why we're already making sure we have strong relationships with the channel. Our new products, added to our existing portfolio, are really going to set us apart from other SSD vendors. It's a really exciting time to get onboard with us." About Memblaze Memblaze is a developer and manufacturer of high-performance PCIe flash application acceleration cards headquartered in China. Since its establishment in 2010 it has grown to be the number one supplier in its home market with a share in excess of 60%. Its customer base today is extensive and contains a growing number of major Chinese technology and hyperscale accounts, including Baidu.

The company continues to grow and will this year double its workforce.
