Voting Kicks Off for Cellcom's Project Innovate

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 21 October 2014 Release date- 20102014 - Voting for Cellcom's Project Innovate in partnership with Nsight Telservices kicked off today.

The community voting challenge gives 11 high schools in the Brown County a chance to win one of three cash prizes totaling $50,000 to be used for classroom technology. The high schools participating in the challenge are Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere, Denmark, Green Bay West, NEW Lutheran, Notre Dame Academy, Preble, Pulaski, West De Pere and Wrightstown.

Voting runs from 8 a.m. on October 20 to midnight on November 20. The school with the most votes at the end of the voting period will be awarded a $30,000 grand prize exclusively for the purchase of technology. The first prize winner will receive $15,000 and the second prize winner will receive $5,000.

'We work hard to find ways to give back to education locally,' said Brighid Riordan, director of Public Affairs for Cellcom and Nsight Telservices. 'Equipping a school with the latest technology is high on the wish list of many educators and students, but budget concerns can make these items less attainable. Project Innovate aims to bridge the gap and give schools the opportunity to meet their technological needs and enhance education overall.' Schools can use their winnings to equip classrooms with interactive white boards, lap tops or tablets, software and apps, Wi-Fi network equipment, connected science lab instruments or digital media tools.

'This is the fifth year we've held Project Innovate and we are excited to bring it to Brown County. The students and teachers are always creative and put a lot in to the challenge,' said Riordan. 'The key to success in Project Innovate is to tell as many people as can to vote for your school. The schools that mobilize early and think outside the box have had the most success.' Anyone age 13 and up is eligible to vote, regardless of location. Each individual can vote one time and an email address is required to vote. To vote, visit www.cellcom.com/projectinnovate.
