MotivoTM Unveils the Tour- A Walker Designed for People's Lives, Not Just Their Conditions

FRANKLIN, Wis. --(Business Wire)--

MotivoTM today unveiled the Tour--a mobility aid featuring revolutionary technology that provides users greater independence for a fuller, more active life. The Tour combines first-in-class features with beautiful design that allows users to walk upright, inside the unit for less fatigue, better posture, and greater stability-and the upright position puts Tour users much closer to cabinets, drawers, shelves and counters. The patent-pending Tour features a revolutionary stow-away padded seat that enables the upright walking position, an easily-accessible storage compartment, cup holders and a convenient tray to make life a little easier for users, while an automotive-grade finish and custom graphics packages reflect each user's personal style.

"The Tour was inspired by our parents, who struggled with the decades-old design of current walkers," said Jennifer Harris, who, along with Jeremy Knopow, founded Motivo, bringing together a combined four decades of consumer product design expeience.

"We wanted our parents, and all people who need walkers, to have a better experience," said Knopow. "We designed the Tour to give users greater independence and let each person make a statement with the product-a statement that their life is about much more than their condition."

Jennifer and Jeremy's dedication to creating a product designed to help their own families means that the Tour is loaded with features to make life a little easier for people whose mobility has been limited. The Tour is made of lightweight and ultra-durable materials for unmatched build quality. It folds compactly for easy travel, and because of its aerospace-inspired monocoque design, weighs just 20 pounds. And when the Tour is folded, the integrated storage means users won't need to empty their belongings every time they fold their walker. All of these features roll on a chassis sporting seven-inch multi-spoke wheels that traverse obstacles far more effectively than other products.

The Tour is already being recognized for its potential to improve users' lives. The American-designed and manufactured Tour has been named an HME Business 2014 Retail Product of the Year and one of MedTrade's Top-5 New Products for its innovation and promise to improve the lives of walker users.

"The Tour is the culmination of a three-year engineering and design effort, but it's really our way of helping people who want to live their lives more fully," said Harris. "We're proud of the awards, but the best reward will be seeing users whose lives have been made easier, more independent, and safer-that's why we created the Tour."
