WOBURN, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

Kaspersky Lab's newest subsidiary, Kaspersky Government Security Solutions, Inc. (KGSS), will host the second annual Kaspersky Government Cybersecurity Forum at the Ronald Regan Building in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. The event will focus on the importance of achieving a cyber resilient information infrastructure in order to avoid the consequences of a cyberattack.

At the 2014 Government Cybersecurity Forum, leaders representing perspectives from government, the utilities, cybersecurity and advanced technology will work side by side with forum participants to explore policy, acquisition and engineering processes that result in robust and resilient systems to enable critical infrastructure to reliably operate in today's sophisticated cyber threat landscape. The Forum will feature a highly distinguished group of speakers, including Tom Davis, Former Virginia Congressman and Former Chairman of the House Government Reform Committee; Howard A. Schmidt, Former Cybersecurity Coordinator of the Obama Administration; Joel Brenner, Former National Counterintelligence Executive and Author of America the Vulnerable and Adam Firestone, President and General Manager of KGSS. Following the event, KGSS will publish a white paper outlining the requirements and solutions outlined by the combined speaker-participant body.

"Cyber security presents a constantly evolving set of challenges to government, contractors and the national critical infrastructure. Over time, it has become clear that our essential systems must not only be secured, they must be built securely the first time around," commented Firestone. "The Government Cybersecurity Forum will examine this ever-growing battle against a constantly evolving cyber threat landscape by bringing together a group of experts committed to identifying the top-level requirements and a systematic approach to addressing cyber resiliency for U.S. government segments."
