Mobile Labs Announces Comprehensive Support for Google's Android 5.0

ATLANTA --(Business Wire)--

Mobile Labs, LLC, a leading provider of secure, enterprise-grade, next-generation mobile testing solutions today announced that comprehensive support for Android (News - Alert) devices running Google's 5.0 release ("Lollipop") will be released when made publically available by Google. Google has announced new Lollipop-based devices that will be available for pre-order in the second half of October and are anticipated to begin deliveries in early November.

Devices running Android OS are available in Mobile Labs' deviceConnect™, a private mobile device cloud that supports manual and automated mobile app testing, manual and automated website testing, performance testing, service objective monitoring, manual device testing, and mobile DevOps from its secure location behind the corporate firewall. deviceConnect's Android 5.0 support includes the complete set of device access management and testing capabilities available for Android and iOS: device control, object-based automation, and device management. In adition, support includes dynamic instrumentation that allows unmodified apps to be tested without the need to create a special app build or to make source code changes.

"We predict that our customers and the users they support will begin to work with Android 5.0 very quickly," said Mobile Labs President and CEO Don Addington, "increasing the pressure to thoroughly test already-deployed apps. Using existing Android test scripts and test cases for regression testing is the best way to speed current apps onto the new operating system, dramatically increasing the return-on-investment for existing tests. The efficiency and security of deviceConnect can continue to make critical impacts on both time-to-market and quality."

The newly announced Nexus devices increase the value of object-based, single-script automated regression testing made possible by Mobile Labs Trust™, deviceConnect's automation engine. deviceConnect's browser-based and Windows-based viewers enable testing of new API functionality and the new "Material Design" user interface that brings a consistent look and feel across devices.

"Timely testing of apps on Lollipop will be a critical factor for the continued acceptance of apps in the workplace and the marketplace," said Addington. "The efficiencies of deviceConnect's automated regression testing, single-script automation across form factors, and DevOps automation make Mobile Labs the right partner for the mobile-everything enterprise capitalizing on the opportunities of mobility."
