Flash Meets Cloud At 2014 EVOLVE Conference In San Francisco

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Pure Storage, the all-flash enterprise storage array company, will host its second annual EVOLVE conference August 28th at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The half-day event commences immediately following VMworld, and will feature keynote presentations from VMware cofounder and former CTO Mendel Rosenblum, panel discussions with IT leaders and innovators, and a special guest appearance from Jay Pharoah of Saturday Night Live.

Designed to unite IT end users, resellers, vendors, innovators, and influencers, EVOLVE offers attendees a unique forum to explore the convergence of next generation technologies that are driving business transformation, through interactive discussions, real world use cases, and technical breakout sessions. New to this year's conference is the EVOLVE Networking Pavilion, where attendees can mingle and meet with technology vendors to learn more about leading edge IT solutions.

EVOLVE 2014 Program Overview

  • Keynote Session: 1:30 - 2:30 PM PT
Industry visionaries are building the next wave of competitive advantage in the data center. Entrepreneur and renowned technologist Mendel Rosenblum will share his insights and experiences in building industry titan VMware, and how to stay ahead in today's fast-paced, ever evolving technology landscape.
  • The Uncertainty Panel 2:30 - 3:00 PM PT
The Heisenberg principle (or uncertainty principle) says that the more precisely you know where something is, the less precisely you can measure its momentum, and vice versa. In this hyper-converged world, where the architecture of IT systems is in a constant state of disruption, this theory seems to have a second home. Moderated by Ben Woo, research analyst at Gigaom Research, and founder and managing director of Neuralytix, Inc., this panel features forward leaning IT innovators that will debate both where and how quickly the macro-trends of cloud, flash and data analytics are changing (and into what, exactly). Panelists include former Netflix cloud architect and Battery Ventures technology fellow Adrian Cockcroft; Justin Stottlemyer, distinguished infrastructure engineer at Intuit; Neil Vaccharachani, architect at Pure Storage; and Karthik Ramasamy, engineering manager of real time analytics at Twitter (News - Alert).
  • Technical Breakout Sesions with Citrix, MongoDB and VMware: 3:00 - 4:30 PM PT
  • Flash Visionaries Panel: 4:30 - 5:15 PM PT

Industry visionaries are heroically infusing their organizations with competitive advantage using flash, as it continues to disrupt the storage industry at an accelerated pace - faster than many expected. In this session, IT leaders from various industries will share how flash is revolutionizing their data centers, powering the next generation of applications, cloud infrastructures, data insights and mobile experiences, while transforming their businesses. Panelists include technology leaders from Aetna, Coherent and The College of Central Florida.
  • Celebrity Keynote with SNL's Jay Pharoah and Networking Reception: 5:15 - 10:00 PM PT
Come for the technology - stick around for the laughs. Special guest Jay Pharaoh will wrap the event up with a comedic keynote, followed by appetizers and libations in the EVOLVE Networking Pavilion, where attendees can mix and mingle, while learning more about the latest innovations and solutions from Brocade, Citrix, CommVault (News - Alert), DataCore Software, Delphix, LoadDynamiX, MongoDB, Unidesk, and Zerto.

"There have never been so many disruptive forces at play in enterprise IT, promising a more efficient, future-proof infrastructure. However, as the pace of innovation continues to accelerate, there is increasing confusion and uncertainty. We developed EVOLVE to help cut through the noise, so IT leaders can better understand how to leverage next generation technologies like flash, cloud and virtualization together in the real world," said Pure CEO Scott Dietzen. "We have worked to ensure EVOLVE offers high caliber speakers and technical content that will not disappoint. With registration already up by more than 3x over last year, we are looking forward to welcoming our most energetic and engaged crowd yet - we hope to see you there."
