CANON CANADA EXPANDS CLOUD-CONNECTED PRINTER LINE WITH THREE PIXMA ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER MODELS

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 22 August 2014 Release date- 20082014 - MISSISSAUGA, ON - Canon Canada Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, announced today the addition of three PIXMA Wireless1 Inkjet Photo All-In-One printers - the PIXMA MG7520, MG6620, and MG5620 - that make wireless, cloud-connected printing easy.

Each model works easily with the PIXMA Printing Solutions2 application and the new mobile-friendly Canon Easy-PhotoPrint+3 web application, which provide easy solutions for cloud-connected printing as well as for the editing and personalization of treasured photos.

PPS provides direct access to the cloud from compatible printers, mobile devices and tablets. With little effort, users can print and scan images and documents from several of the most popular online social platforms and services such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Photobucket, Dropbox, Evernote, Creative Park and Creative Park Premium, along with the newly supported Google DriveTM and Microsoft OneDrive. With PPS, users can also check ink model number information, online printer user manuals and other important printer information.

Enhancing the cloud capabilities of these new printers is Easy-PhotoPrint+. This free web-based application provides users access to photos from their local drive or social platforms to create a large variety of editing options on different mediums, including photo prints, collages, calendars, cards, layouts and stickers. With Easy-PhotoPrint+, accessible on mobile devices and computers (PC and Mac), users can start and save projects on one device and complete them later on another device.

Additionally, PictBridge5 (Wireless LAN) functionality allows select Canon digital cameras to connect directly to the printer - eliminating the need for a computer. With Access Point Mode, users can also connect their compatible mobile device to their PIXMA printers directly through Wi-Fi without connecting to a router.

New PIXMA Touch & Print Capabilities With all the photo-printing benefits photography enthusiasts yearn for, the Canon PIXMA MG7520 Wireless Inkjet Photo AIO printer features advanced media handling with a dual front tray, direct disc printing and six individual ink tanks producing output at a maximum colour resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi6. Sporting a compact footprint, the printer has a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen with the Canon Intelligent Touch System for easy viewing and navigating of menus and images.

New to this model is PIXMA Touch & Print7 (Active NFC), which allows users with compatible Android TMmobile devices that are registered with PPS to simply open the PPS app, touch the NFC Tag on the top of the printer while viewing the picture, and begin printing without the need for Wi-Fi. The PIXMA MG7520 printer is available in burnt orange, black, and white with a mirror finish, and will have an estimated retail price of $219.998.

The Canon PIXMA MG6620 Wireless Inkjet Photo AIO printer features a Passive NFC version of PIXMA Touch & Print technology, with similar functionality as Active NFC except that, to print, both the mobile device and printer will have to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. The printer also features a three-inch LCD touchscreen and produces stunning, high-quality images along with sharp documents for the home or home office thanks to a five-colour hybrid ink system. Available in black, white and burnt orange with a matte finish, the PIXMA MG6620 printer will have an estimated retail price of $179.998.

The PIXMA MG5620 Wireless Inkjet Photo AIO printer uses five individual ink tanks, four of which are colour and photo-dedicated while there is a separate pigment black ink dedicated to text. The 2.5-inch touchscreen allows easy access to printer functions including PIXMA Cloud Link and Google Cloud Print9. It is available in black and white with a matte finish, and has a retail price of $129.998.
