Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Selects Dell Services to Improve Efficiency and Revitalize IT Operations

Dell Services announced today
that it has been selected to provide the U.S.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with comprehensive
IT infrastructure, application and user support services. Under a
five-year, $120+ million, Information Technology Infrastructure Support
Services (ITISS) contract, Dell (News - Alert) and the CDC will extend their 11-year
relationship to drive efficiencies and ensure that CDC scientists and
administrators have the high levels of IT support they require to
protect America from health, safety and security threats.
The CDC, located in Atlanta, Ga., is an agency of the Department of
Health and Human Services (DHHS). As the world's leading public health
agency, the CDC has responsibility for promoting health and quality of
life by preventing and controlling disease, injury and disability. The
CDC works with states, local public health agencies and partners
throughout the U.S. and the world to accomplish this mission. For the
past 11 years, Dell has partnered with the CDC to ensure uninterrupted
research for its 16,000 researchers and end users conducting biomedical
research and publc health preparedness and response.
