TrialNetworks, Part of DrugDev, Named a Finalist for the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Healthcare & Life Sciences Innovation Award

NEWTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

TrialNetworks, part of DrugDev, has been named a finalist for the competitive 2014 Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC) Healthcare & Life Sciences Innovation Award.

Panels of distinguished executives, investors, analysts, media and thought leaders chose the MassTLC finalists from among hundreds of nominations. MassTLC will announce the winners at an Awards Gala to be held at the Westin Waterfront in Boston the evening of September 11. Learn more about MassTLC at www.masstlc.org.

TrialNetworks provides sponsors and CROs with a unified, cloud-based platform of integrated study management apps and tools designed to transform the quality and efficiency of global clinical operations for study teams and sites.

"Our congratulations go to TrialNetworks and to all the finalists of the 17th annual MassTLC Leadership Awards," said Tom Hopcroft, president and CEO of Mass Technology Leadership Council. "Each one is an example of the executive leadership, business acumen and technological innovation fueling Massachusetts' economy and an example of the breadth and depth of talent in our region."

TrialNetworks began as an idea shared by three entrepreneurs with local roots who began writing their first lines of code in a basement in Newton, MA. The unique combination of science, technology and healthcare found in Massachusetts provided an ideal environment for TrialNetworks to achieve its mission of transforming global clinical trial operations.

The company cultivated relationships with innovative local biotech companies and academic medical institutions, which helped accelerate development of the TrialNetworks platform. Today the system is used by a wide range of customers, including biotech and top-10 pharmaceutical companies, to improve quality and efficiency from startup through closeout.

Eric Silberstein, President of TrialNetworks, said, "The Massachusetts corridor is an inspiring hub of both technology and pharmaceutical innovation, and we are grateful and honored for this recognition from our peers and colleagues at MassTLC. Our company is growing fast, and we are actively searching for local software developers and clinical operations professionals to help us create modern and intuitive solutions that make running clinical trials easier from startup through closeout."

Earlier this year, the company's innovative Clinical Trial Optimization System won the Disruptive Technology of the Year award from Partnerships in Clinical Trials and was a finalist for the Clinical Informatics (News - Alert) News Best Practices Award. Recently, TrialNetworks expanded into its new headquarters in a converted mill along the banks of the Charles River at historic Echo Bridge in Newton.
