Woot.com Celebrates Its 10th Birthday with Epic Game, Larger-than-Life Deals, and a Feline George Takei

CARROLTON, Texas --(Business Wire)--

Woot.com, one of the first daily deal sites on the Internet, is celebrating its 10th birthday today by offering unbelievable deals, free shipping on most items, and the Internet's first retail playing game (RPG) featuring George Takei.

"Ultimately, we are giving our customers what they really want, and that's great deals within a fun and engaging shopping experience," said John Alteio, general manager, Woot. "I think they'll be pleased to find that we really have the best prices on our deals, and hopefully, they'll laugh at our jokes, too."

The World of Wootcrap, the Internet's first RPG, invites users to discover the mysteries and surprises Woot has in store for its 10th birthday. The game, which is narrated by and features a feline likeness of "Star Trek" actor and Internet celebrity George Takei, places players in rival clans as they interactively battle.

To commemorate 10 years of great deals, Woot wil also be offering some of the best prices ever seen on the site, with savings on the Dyson DC25 vacuum at $179.99 and hourly deals on top products including:

  • Char-Broil 36,000 BTU 3-Burner Gas Grill for $79.99 (65 percent off list price)

BoCs typically sell out in seconds, but Woot is providing loyal shoppers with their best chance ever to snare one of these elusive and mysterious packages, which can contain anything from Texas air to a big-screen TV. Over the course of its decade of operation, Woot has sold more than 64,000 BoCs, which were created as a way to clear odds and ends from its warehouse.
