PROMISE Technology and the Taiwan Ministry of Education Announce a Cloud File Sharing Program for Parents and Students

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 12 June 2014 Release date- 10062014 - HSINCHU, Taiwan -PROMISE Technology Inc., a storage industry global leader, today at the 'Ministry of Education (MoE) Storage Press Conference for Parents and Students' announced its participation in the MoE's Cloud Storage Solutions Program by donating storage systems in addition to the PROMISE FileCruiser cloud file synchronization and sharing solution.

The MoE's FileCruiser solution will benefit all of Taiwan's elementary and junior high school students and their parents as they are able to take advantage of an interactive cloud file sharing platform. PROMISE will offer a long-term cooperation that will integrate its FileCruiser software and hardware in a cloud platform to provide young students in Taiwan the benefits and convenience of a cloud learning environment. PROMISE hopes to initiate a call for more technology companies to join the program together with the MoE to create a better learning environment by utilizing cloud services. Additionally, in order to allow more educational institutions to enjoy cloud services, PROMISE is launching its FileCruiser cloud storage solution designed for university campuses.

'The requirements of the new cloud world will dominate the development of new technology over the next 10 years as the cloud industry will change our everyday habits and will change the entire IT industry,' said James Lee, CEO, PROMISE Technology. 'The cooperation with the Ministry of Education, which was developed based on the educational needs of the students, meets the requirements of the latest cloud-sharing platforms and enables us to achieve our ultimate goal of benefiting the students, parents, teachers, and schools in Taiwan. Especially in remote rural schools, cloud technology can be leveraged to allow these students to access and enjoy the same resources as their piers no matter where they are located.' Mr. Lee noted that the origins of new technologies come from the needs of our communities and the sophisticated technologies that meet these needs are a result of the hard work and investment of governments and a company's employees. The investment funds come from various sectors of society that receive added value from these technologies and from the support of investors and shareholders. Therefore, the needs of the community encourage investment from companies and employees, investment promotes the development of sophisticated technologies, and as technologies take a step forward they bring benefits to customers - it is a continuous beneficial cycle for all parties involved.

PROMISE FileCruiser: Cloud File Synchronization and Sharing Solution Unlike public cloud file synchronization and sharing solutions, FileCruiser not only provides a highly scalable hardware infrastructure but also cloud file sharing software which is developed by PROMISE. In addition to providing efficient file sharing and team collaboration capabilities to facilitate teamwork and cooperation between students, parents, and teachers, the integrated private cloud solution offers better security, eliminating the risk associated with public clouds where valuable data could be compromised. Additionally, the simple and versatile user interface allows students and parents to share files anytime, anywhere through FileCruiser to their desktop, mobile phone or tablet and allows for a smooth interaction between parents and students. Additional highlights of FileCruiser include: Convenient Email Integration and File Sharing Once the MoE integrates the solution, users can easily share files by clicking on the 'Parent-Student Cloud Icon' via the interface of their email application. By clicking on the icon, a link to the file from the FileCruiser cloud platform will be sent via email so parents or students can access the file on mobile phones or tablets, allowing students to create the best mobile database of all of their learning materials. All photos and videos taken from the mobile phone or tablet can also easily be shared simply by copying a link which will allow students and parents to interact more closely.

Safe and Secure Solution The FileCruiser application not only makes it easier to share files, but offers security features that ensure the files will not be compromised. Passwords and expiration dates can be set to ensure that the valuable information intended for the parents and students will not be stolen.

Sharing with Groups Through FileCruiser, users can also set up groups when working on projects with different classmates. This allows all of the students in the team to collaborate on the project as they will have access to all of the updated files that are uploaded to FileCruiser. This saves time as there is no need to send the file by email every time it is updated.

FileCruiser Campus Project Event To celebrate this collaboration with the MoE, from June 10 to September 30, PROMISE is launching its FileCruiser Campus Project event for universities and colleges. During this time if a university or college applies for the FileCruiser Campus Project they can enjoy discounted education pricing and if they apply prior to July 31 an additional early bird discount is available.
