Euro NCAP, BMW, Continental, Valeo and Ficosa confirmed to present at Smithers Apex inaugural Image Sensors Automotive conference
LEATHERHEAD, England --(Business Wire)--
Image Sensors organisers have released the full programme for the new 2014
automotive conference, a two day conference covering discussions of
automotive imaging systems and technology.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in the automotive sector is
set to grow exponentially over the next 5 years, and many systems
involving visual spectrum image capture. Implementation in the
automotive sector is still in its relative infancy and as the volume and
sophistication of installed systems increase rapidly, there is a need
for comprehensive dialogue throughout the supply chain.
Keynote Speaker Aled Williams from Euro NCAP, will present
the 'Future of Vision Based ADAS in Vehicle Safety Certification',
unveiling certification plans to 2020. Sabin Nemes of BMW
and Dr Martin Punke from Continental review the latest automotive
camera systems for ADAS, setting the scene for the discussion around
current challenges and the direction of technology development.
Chaired by Prof Patrick Denny of Valeo Vision Systems, IS
Auto is set to tackle issues facing the development and adoption of
camera technology in production vehicles - standards, testing, series
production, environmental factors, image processing, manufacturing will
all be addressed and discussed. Senior figures from Aptina,
OmniVision, Toshiba (News - Alert), and Melexis will present the
latest sensor innovations, and future challenges for sensor and camera
manufacturers operating in automotive applications.
The conference is bringing together OEM teams with Tier 1 suppliers,
plus sensor and processor developers to discuss the OEM requirements,
latest technology, shared challenges, and the pending regulatory
environment as well as testing, standards and safety certification.
