Rose Electronics Showcases CrystalLink USB 3.0 Extender with ExtremeUSB® Technology at NAB Show® 2014

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/07/14 -- Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, is pleased to announce today that Rose Electronics, a pioneer in developing KVM switch technology, will be showcasing a live demo of its popular CrystalLink USB 3.0 extender at the NAB Show® 2014, booth SU10707, from April 7 - 10th in Las Vegas, NV.

The demand for increased bandwidth continues to rise with the emergence of new USB devices and high definition video formats. With a SuperSpeed throughput transfer rate of 5Gbps, USB 3.0 is being recognized as a well suited interface for broadcast file transfer applications; however a cable distance limit of approximately 3 meters has been an issue for consideration.

Rose's CrystalLink USB 3.0 extender provides a distance solution by extending USB 3.0 based broadcast applications up to 100 meters over OM3 multimode fiber optic cabling. This professional and industrial grade extender system features locking connectors and is designed to be in compliance with AIA USB3 Vision™ devices. The CrystalLink USB 3.0 extender includes the ExtremeUSB® suite of features, including transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers) and compatibility with all major operating systems including Windows® 8.

"USB 3.0 is approximately 10 times faster than USB 2.0 and can be used in various broadcast applications where increased bandwidth would advantageous," said David Rahvar, General Partner at Rose Electronics. "Post production editing and remote archiving are just two such examples where USB 3.0 coupled with extension provide an elegant and reliable total solution. " "High definition broadcast video files are quite sizable and need an efficient mechanism when transferring from one location to another," said Glenn Antonelli, Vice President of Marketing at Icron Technologies. "Roses CrystalLink USB 3.0 extender provides ample bandwidth at 5Gbps and ensures the distance between equipment location points is covered without issue." To see a demo of Rose's CrystalLink USB 3.0 extender with ExtremeUSB technology, please visit booth SU10707 at NAB in Las Vegas between April 7-10th.
