PCSC to distribute Fujitsu's PalmEntry Physical Access Control solution

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 28 March 2014 Release date- 27032014 - Foothill Ranch, Ca, - Frontech North America Inc., a leader in innovative technology and front-end solutions announced today that PCSC, Torrance, CA, a leading manufacturer of quality access control solutions from integrated hardware to sophisticated access control management software, will be an authorized distributor of Fujitsu PalmEntry products for physical access control using PalmSecure sensor biometrics technology.

PCSC has been providing state-of-the-art card access systems to major OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and many dealers throughout the world. From its inception, PCSC has introduced many firsts in the security industry such as integrated video badging, Wiegand reader distances up to 2000 feet, fully intelligent elevator controls, direct Ethernet LAN based panels, and recently the industry's first truly fault tolerant patented access control system.

'Our customers have been very pleased with the performance of the Fujitsu PalmSecure biometrics technology. It has proven to provide accurate, timely and reliable authentication in some of the harshest environments imaginable,' says Mas Kosaka, President and CEO, PCSC. 'Fujitsu's PalmEntry products give us another key ingredient to complement our overall suite of physical access control solutions for our global customers'.

PalmEntry products rely on Fujitsu's award-winning PalmSecure palm vein imaging biometric technology. The Fujitsu PalmSecure sensors use a near-infrared light to capture a user's palm vein pattern, generating a unique biometric template that is matched against the palm vein patterns of pre-registered users. Unlike other readers, the PalmSecure sensor does not come into contact with the skin, making it extremely hygienic, non-intrusive and unrestricted by external factors such as skin types and conditions. Registration for users takes less than one minute and authentication takes less than one second.

'We are delighted that such a security-focused company as PCSC has chosen the Fujitsu PalmSecure technology to use as one more tool in their arsenal of physical access control solutions,' according to Randy Fox, vice president, currency handling and identification product solutions, Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. 'The fact that PCSC is recommending and using PalmEntry solutions for some of their most sensitive foreign military clients demonstrates their confidence in Fujitsu and the technology.' Fujitsu's family of biometric solutions, the PalmSecure sensor, PalmSecure for SSO (single sign-on) system and the PalmEntry Physical Access Control system all utilize the award-winning technology. The palm vein device can only recognize the pattern if the blood is actively flowing within the individual's veins, so forgery is virtually impossible. This advanced, vascular pattern recognition technology not only provides highly reliable authentication with low false accept and reject rates, but also allows for fast and easy enrollment.
