Emulex Extends Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro Asia Ltd

COSTA MESA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), a leader in network connectivity, monitoring and management, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro (News - Alert) Asia Ltd for the Emulex portfolio of Fibre Channel and Ethernet I/O connectivity solutions, including the recently introduced OneConnect® OCe14000 family of 10Gb and 40Gb Ethernet (10/40GbE)�Network Adapters and�Converged Network Adapters�(CNAs). Ingram Micro Asia Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro Inc.), headquartered in Singapore, is a leading wholesale provider of a wide range of computer products in Asia Pacific (APAC). This agreement extends the reach of Emulex (News - Alert) network connectivity products in Singapore, Indochina Regions (Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar), Vietnam and the Philippines.

Together with Ingram Micro, Emulex will extend and recruit new resellers into the Emulex ConnectTM Partner Program, to grow the Emulex partner network and expertise in the region, and provide convenient and efficient support to its customers in Singapore, Indochina Regions, Philippines and Vietnam. The Emulex Connect Partner Program will also provide both companies' sales and reseller teams with the technical tools needed to ramp up quickly, and with training, education services and professional services to equip them with the latest skills and technologies information. In addition, business partners can utilize Ingram Micro's Proof-of-Concept centers to further seek out new opportunities.

The Emulex network connectivity portfolio includes the new OneConnect OCe14000 family of Ethernet Network Adapters and Converged Network Adapters, which enable higher virtual machine (VM) densities, support secure hybrid clouds with Overlay Networks, leverage a new RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE)-based low latency architecture to deliver application acceleration, and provides an open application performance interface (API) that integrates with next generation software-defined networking (SDN) solutions. In addition to the OneConnect family of adapters, the Emulex NetworkConnectivity Product portfolio includes the Emulex LightPulse® Gen 5 (16Gb) Fibre Channel (FC) HBAs, which deliver increased storage area network (SAN) reliability, management and consolidation simplicity, as well as application acceleration and higher throughput for virtualization, flash storage and mission-critical applications. Emulex Gen 5 FC HBAs enable up to 20 percent more IOPS than other Gen 5 FC HBAs, plus lightning-fast response times with more than 1.2 million IOPS on a single port1.
