LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)--

CES (News - Alert) 2013, LVCC Central Hall Booth #10926 - Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced its 2014 4K Ultra HD TV offerings. The all new L8400U, L9400U, and L9450U Series Ultra HD TVs deliver an unmatched entertainment experience for movies, TV shows, video games, photo viewing and PC applications. Now in its third generation of Ultra HD image processing, Toshiba has enhanced its proprietary CQ 4K Engine, which offers an even better picture quality than before, and has also added its first-ever Toshiba Radiance (News - Alert) 4K Full Array LED Panels.

"We have expanded our 2014 4K Ultra HD TV lineup for what will be a quickly expanding 4K Ultra HD market," said Scott Ramirez, vice president of Product Marketing and Development, Visual Products, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division. "Once people see Ultra HD they want Ultra HD and we have created a model for every customer. Because the driver for Ultra HD is incredible picture quality, Toshiba has invested in our own Radiance™ 4K full array LED panels and our third generation CQ 4K Engine to ensure a Wow experience every time you watch TV. In addition, for 2014 Toshiba has incorporated HDMI 2.0 for 4K at 60 fps, HDCP 2.2 to help ensure access to premium content over HDMI, and H.265 HEVC to allow streaming of 4K Ultra HD content directly to the TV. Simply put, we have created an Ultra HD experience that will exceed expectations."

Premier L9400U Series

For the consumer demanding the ultimate 4K Ultra HD experience, Toshiba's premium L9400U Series is the perfect choice. This series features Toshiba's new Radiance 4K Full Array LED panels, ClearScan® 240Hz and a new and stunning thin poster frame cosmetic design. The L9400U series will be available in 65-inch and 58-inch screen sizes. Key features for 2014 include:

  • Radiance 4K Full Array LED Panel: Toshiba's first-ever LED panel kit incorporates Toshiba's own SuperBright LEDs, with Super Wide Color Gamut and Quantum Black™ Local Dimming to deliver significantly brighter, more colorful, and deeper images than ever possible before. Radiance 4K brings the promise of Ultra HD to life.
  • CQ 4K Engine - Quad + Dual Core: The Toshiba CQ 4K Engine is third-generation 4K processing that utilizes a unique five-point image enhancement system that includes best-in-class resolution restoration, motion interpolation, dynamic detail enhancement, color restoration and dynamic noise reduction for pristine results.
  • ClearScan 240Hz: 240Hz refresh rate technology creates clear, smooth fast motion video that is needed to maximize the experience when watching sports or action movies.
  • Thin Poster Frame Cosmetic Design with Angled Stand: This elegant look will impress, yet the sleek, modern design blends perfectly into any home environment.
  • Smart TV with Cloud Portal: Enhanced graphics with 3D transitions, faster operation, and additional services such as GameNow™ online gaming keep the 2014 Smart TV with Cloud Portal system a step ahead. Whether you want to connect to your favorite content (streaming from the Internet or your home network), mobile devices (with wireless display or Bluetooth) or people (with Toshiba's unique Personal Messaging, Photo Sharing or Family Calendar), Toshiba's Smart TV with Cloud Portal makes it fun and easy.
  • Voice Control: Now you can control the TV functions you really use every day just by talking to the TV remote. Control of channels, volume, inputs and more is simpler than ever before.
  • Labyrinth Speaker System: This all new speaker system significantly increases bass response, creating enhanced audio impact that is missing from many flat panel TVs. DTS (News - Alert) Premium Sound™ is added to create overall immersive sound experience.
  • Sonic Separation: Background sounds and vocal sound can now be mixed separately. Now you can lower noisy background sounds so you can hear the voices more clearly, or eliminate the vocals so you can sing along with a music video. The power is in your hands.
  • DIRECTV Ready: The incorporation of RVU technology makes this series DIRECTV® Ready, so now you don't need extra boxes in each room because DIRECTV is built in to the TV. With a DIRECTV Ready television, you can enjoy all the benefits of your Genie™ HD DVR without seeing additional equipment.
  • Custom Installation Ready: With features like Control4 compatibility, Expert Mode, and ColorMaster™, these TVs are perfect for a larger home theater system.
