Green Hills Software Signs Teaming Agreement with HP to Offer Secure Android Smartphones and Tablets to UK Public Sector; Trusted Mobile Devices Based on INTEGRITY Multivisor Security Architecture Available for Trial and Pilot Programmes Today

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Green Hills Software, the largest independent supplier of embedded and mobile virtualization solutions, today announced that it is teaming with HP to offer trusted mobile devices built with Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY® Multivisor(TM) virtualization technology for Android and enabled by HP's secure mobility service, to the UK public sector.

As part of a new teaming agreement with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services (UK) Ltd, Green Hills Software is piloting a secure mobile device initiative combining HP's secure mobility end-to-end service and Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY Multivisor security technology. The separation kernel-based Type-1 hypervisor delivers security that cannot be achieved with mobile OS-level mechanisms through application wrapping, containers, access control and encrypted workspaces.

These trusted mobile devices demonstrate form factor flexibility, near-zero impact to OEMs, and the ability to deploy high assurance isolation technology at the speed of consumer electronics innovation.

"When you consider that there are over 1.3 million mobile devices in the UK public sector, lowering cost, improving communication and increasing overall mobile security results is a huge benefit to the UK Government," said Christopher Smith, vice president of marketing, Green Hills Software. "Our separation kernel-based Type-1 hypervisor isolates at the hardware level, providing users with confidence in personal privacy while ensuring security and protection of critical enterprise information. Furthermore, the increased security provided with this solution will enable many new public sector departments to adopt mobile smartphones and tablets." Green Hills Software has initiated an independent test assessment in order to achieve Commercial Product Assurance (CPA) Certification for its trusted mobile solution. CPA Certification is awarded to security products that have been successfully tested against security standards defined by CESG, the UK Government Communications-Electronics Security Group.

"Our UK public sector clients have been searching for secure mobile solutions for IL2+ environments for some time," said Dion Smith, director of operations, enablement and innovation, HP UK Public Sector. "As a result of our collaboration with Green Hills, HP is able to offer a trusted solution for the UK public sector, integrated with INTEGRITY Multivisor trusted mobile devices, to deliver a mobile experience with the ultimate level of protection, security, trust and privacy." Availability Mobile devices running INTEGRITY Multivisor are available today for trials with carriers, enterprises and governments. The solution includes device acquisition and delivery, front-line integration and technical support to both users and enterprise administrators. Contact virtual-info@ghs.com for further information.

About INTEGRITY Multivisor Shipping since 2003, INTEGRITY Multivisor is built upon security-certified separation kernel technology that provides highly assured isolation between one or more "guest" operating systems (personas) while also providing a native open standard execution environment for security-critical tasks, including FIPS 140-2-certified and NSA Suite B-compliant data encryption, user authentication, security event auditing, and remote management. INTEGRITY Multivisor offers several approaches to virtualization in ARM-powered devices, including paravirtualization and full virtualization with or without hardware hypervisor acceleration. As the digital world grows in complexity, no single operating system suffices. The hypervisor provides the right level of abstraction - the virtual machine - for flexibility, scalability, and portability, enabling elegant yet practical solutions to previously intractable computing problems.

About Green Hills Software Founded in 1982, Green Hills Software is the largest independent vendor of embedded software solutions. Our open architecture integrated development solutions address deeply embedded, absolute security and high-reliability applications for the military/avionics, medical, industrial, automotive, networking, consumer and other markets that demand industry-certified solutions.
