Panasonic Joins the HDBaseT Alliance
BEAVERTON, Ore. --(Business Wire)--
The HDBaseT Alliance today announced that Panasonic (News - Alert) is now a Contributor
member of the Alliance. While today marks the company's first day as
an official Alliance member, Panasonic has played an integral role in
the development and deployment of the HDBaseT technology since its
introduction in 2010, and offers a number of HDBaseT-enabled projectors
and commercial displays.
Panasonic is the latest global manufacturer of consumer and commercial
AV products to join the HDBaseT
Alliance, a consortium of companies that works to promote and
standardize HDBaseT technology. Powered by the Valens
HDBaseT chipset, HDBaseT enables the distribution of uncompressed HD
video (including 4K), audio, power, controls and Ethernet over a single,
inexpensive LAN cale.
Panasonic offers a diverse selection of nearly 20 HDBaseT-enabled
projectors and displays, including the world's first 1080p lamp-free
professional projector with HDBaseT. Referred to as DIGITAL LINK, the
HDBaseT enabled projectors and displays enable a single CAT5e and above
cable to transmit uncompressed HD videos, audio and control commands up
to 100 meters. For projects such as a digital signage network and
equipping a boardroom or conference room with a new Panasonic projector
or state-of-the-art display, installers can realize significant time and
cost savings by running the single CAT cable.

Alliance. "Its success with integrating HDBaseT into projectors and

that enable end-to-end deployment of HDBaseT."
