New Article from 1394 Trade Association Highlights Benefits of AS5643 and IEEE 1394 in Advanced Avionics Applications
SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--
The 1394 Trade Association has published a comprehensive new article
detailing the benefits of a pair of innovative standards for advanced
high performance avionics applications.
Developed and written by Richard Mourn, chairman of the 1394 Trade
Association, the new article describes how the AS5643 and 1394
(FireWire) standards were brought together by engineers to define a
complete vehicle system network on the F-35 and X-47B systems.
The article has been published by Avionics Intelligence, a member of the
Aerospace and Defense media group at Pennwell Publishing, which also

Mourn is an industry veteran who is currently Vice President of Systems
Engineering at Dap Technology, Inc., an international developer of test
and measurement systems and products. He is a long time member of the
1394 Trade Association board of directors.
