London, UK, Dec 04, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- In its series for examining trends, in preparation for cyberbullying statistics 2014, NoBullying.com examines in an article released today why Australia is ranked third worldwide in Google searches for cyberbullying.

In one month, Google recorded 33400 searches for the term cyberbullying, not to mention traffic stemming from searches for several other terms related to the same field.

It is worth noting that Australia has a list of laws and bills targeting bullying and cyberbullying ranging from online grooming, child pornography and hacking among other things with sentences ranging from 2 years in prison to 15 years in prison.

This epidemic is generally defined as bullying tactics used against an individual using the internet, cell phones or other technologies.

It differs from conventional bullying in that the harassment or torment is not done in the victim's physical presence.

Macartan Mulligan, Co-Founder of NoBullying.com, said, "While it is quite a good thing that many people from different parts of the world are taking an interest in learning about cyberbullying, we at NoBullying.com look forward to the day where it is a thing of the past. He added that parents and teachers should make a point to educate the younger generations about the sad outcome of bullying online and off line. According to Mulligan, it is quite imperative to press for more firm laws condemning all acts of bullying.
