SkyCross Announces New Line of High-Performance 802.11ac 5GHz Antenna Products
FREMONT, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

antennas operating at the 5GHz frequency and designed to optimally
support the 802.11ac WiFi specification. SkyCross (News - Alert) also reported today
global IT testing and verification consulting firm Allion
Labs has confirmed SkyCross' new 802.11ac 5GHz antennas outperform

The 802.11ac specification provides multi-station WLAN throughput of at
least 1 gigabit per second and a single link throughput of at least 500
megabits per second. In a comparison of antennas on a common system and
chipset, SkyCross' 802.11ac 5GHz antennas for WiFi (News - Alert) considerably
surpassed this specification and alternative antenna solutions.
"While testing next generation 802.11ac gateways that leverage SkyCross'
5GHz antennas, Allion USA observed throughput speeds of ~750 Mbps.
SkyCross' antennas easily outperform currently available, off the shelf,
802.11ac solutions such as those incorporated into the NETGEAR R6300,"
said Chad Meyer, vice president of Engineering at Allion Labs.
To date, 750 megabits per second is the highest recorded data rate on
the WiFi chipset utilized, coming closest to the theoretical maximum
rate that an 802.11ac product can offer. By comparison, other antenna
solutions have achieved closer to 500-600 Mbps data rates in rate versus
range testing. Furthermore, SkyCross solutions outperformed at range as
well, highlighting superior design on all fronts.
