Nuance opens mobile innovation center in Massachusetts

Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) said it has opened a brand new mobile innovation centre in the Central Square area of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The new mobile innovation centre is home to the expanding Boston-area segment of Nuance's R&D team dedicated to advancing breakthroughs in voice recognition, natural language and user interface technologies that are reinventing the relationship between people and technology.
The Nuance Cambridge Innovation Center will continue focus on a number of areas, including cross-platform, conversational interactions across a variety of devices including phones, tablets, TVs, cars, PCs and consumer electronics. The Cambridge location will advance research in many topics including voice biometrics, wearable technologies, natural language processing, contextual awareness, voice-controlled home automation and the cloud-based infrastructure that supports these rapidly maturing capabilities. Research teams will also be focused on the continued acceleration of voice recognition innovation itself across many languages and use cases, leveraging deep belief learning neural networks.
