QuickLogic Announces Inclusion in Broadcom BCM21663 Processor Qualified Vendor List

SUNNYVALE, CA, Oct 29, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK) -- ArcticLink III CSSP enables LVDS displays to be used with MIPI-DSI-based BCM21663 Application Processor -- Proven hardware and software interface with guaranteed support from Broadcom -- Enables faster time-to-market and less engineering effort QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator of ultra-low power programmable Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs), today announced that the company's ArcticLink(R) III VX and BX CSSP solutions are now included in Broadcom's Qualified Vendor List (QVL) for an LVDS-based display bridging application supporting its BCM21663 Dual-core HSPA+ Multimedia Baseband Processor.

Broadcom includes vendors on its QVL after it has successfully verified all aspects of the supplier's solution. Customers planning to use QuickLogic's ArcticLink III CSSP can now be assured that they are implementing a known-good, proven design. This fact allows developers to complete their work more quickly and with less engineering effort, speeding time-to-market and lowering overall development costs.

Broadcom, a global innovator and leader in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications, developed the BCM21663 to deliver advanced performance for low-cost, mass-market smartphones.

The BCM21663 is an HSPA+ baseband processor that incorporates a high-performance 1.0 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 applications processor and an HD multimedia engine. The ArcticLink III BX provides high-throughput display bridging from the MIPI-DSI-based BCM21663 to an LVDS display, while the ArcticLink III VX offers a pin-identical upgrade that adds display visual enhancement and power-saving technologies.

"The inclusion of QuickLogic's ArcticLink III into Broadcom's BCM21663 Qualified Vendor List allows OEMs to select a QuickLogic CSSP solution and be assured of 100% hardware and software compatibility," said Paul Karazuba, senior product marketing manager at QuickLogic. "We are excited to be part of the Broadcom ecosystem, and to know that Broadcom's customers can now enjoy the benefits of using QuickLogic's ArcticLink III CSSP solution."
