Wind River launches latest version of Wind River Intelligent Device Platform

Wind River, a provider of embedded software for intelligent connected systems and a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), declared on Tuesday that it has launched the latest version of its Intelligent Device Platform, a software development environment for building machine-to-machine (M2M) applications and devices that communicate with the cloud.
The company said its platform provides ready-to-use components to secure, manage and connect Internet of Things (IoT) gateways; is a scalable, sustainable and secure solution that develops, integrates and deploys IoT gateways easily; is based on the the company's operating systems that are standards-compliant and fully tested, as well as Wind River development tools; and contains device security, smart connectivity, rich network options and device management.
Wind River added that the Intelligent Device Platform's first set of solutions will be available in the first quarter of 2014 and that it is optimised for Intel architecture, being an integral part of the Intel's family of intelligent gateway solutions, a packaged and pre-validated hardware and software product for gateways that connect legacy systems and provide common interfaces between devices and the cloud.
