Frost & Sullivan Awards Adtran for Customer Value Enhancement

Based on its recent analysis of the enterprise media gateways and session border controllers market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Adtran with the 2013 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Enhancement.
According to a release, with more than 70 percent market share in terms of units shipped in the VoIP access and SIP trunking segment, Adtran leads the market by creating value for its service provider partners as well as end-user organizations through product design, dynamic product capabilities, and partnerships.
Frost & Sullivan reported that VoIP access services, session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking services, and modern unified communications (UC) platforms are moving enterprises away from time division multiplexing (TDM)-based interfaces and creating an IP-based environment. The evolving UC market demands that infrastructure components support an increasing number of deployment scenarios while offering the capability to integrate newer solutions with existing systems.

Additionally, Adtran's multi-purpose design principles enable its products to dynamically transition to meet customer requirements. Its Total Access business gateway series interfaces with both TDM and IP telephony solutions on the customer premises as well as with the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and VoIP carrier networks. It provides router and firewall functionality along with call routing, branch survivability, and network monitoring, functioning as CPE demarcation points for VoIP and SIP trunking services and as remote branch solutions.
The NetVanta 6000 gateway series extends the functionality of the Total Access 900/900e series by bringing a modular option to ADTRAN's enterprise media gateway lineup. One solution in the lineup can even become a single-box solution for branch or small office voice and data network deployments. Further, the NetVanta 7000 IP PBX platforms support multiple deployment considerations -- on-premises IP PBX, on-premises call control as a managed service or as a gateway to support hosted UC solutions -- all from a single hardware appliance.
