V7 unveils Elite 2.5-inch SSDs for laptops, desktop PCs and servers

V7, a provider of computer accessories and a division of Ingram Micro Inc., has introduced its V7 Elite 2.5-inch solid state drives, or SSDs, for Ultrabooks, laptops, desktop PCs and servers.

V7 Elite 2.5-inch SSD products address consumers' needs for speed and greater system responsiveness. Because of its high-speed SATA-III/6 Gb/sec interface, the SSD drives are typically 90 percent faster than traditional hard drives, and deliver start-up times that are more than 75 percent faster, enabling more rapid boot-up times.
Offering read/write speeds of 550/530 Mb/sec., and up to 4K Random Read/Write of 28,000 IOPS/90,000 input/outputs per second, the V7 Elite SSD product line maximizes system performance by handling large amounts of data quickly for improved system responsiveness. Users will realize faster application launch and shut-down times, and higher sustained read, write and sequential speeds.
V7 Elite SSD products leverage highly reliable and enduring flash components. Impressive power and write specifications are delivered via use of MLC NAND Flash technology and the data compression powerhouse SandForce SF-2281 controller.
Featuring a slim 7 mm thick design, V7 Elite SSDs deliver benefits over HDDs in that they have no moving parts, eliminating mechanical failure and noise concerns. This also lessens power consumption, improves battery life and lowers heat signature - all significant benefits for today's low-profile notebooks, servers and other devices. SSDs are extremely rugged, functioning in extreme temperatures and able to withstand extreme shock - up to a 100G shock resistance rating - and G-force, yielding a robust storage solution that can withstand the most intense environmental factors.
