Atlanta, GA, Sep 18, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) --
The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state's leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia's technology industry, today announced that its Health Society (TAG Health) will host its annual Mobile Health event on Thursday, September 19, during National Health IT Week.
Healthcare representatives from across the industry - providers, insurance companies, vendors, and government and academic representatives - will converge on Villa Christina in Sandy Springs for an evening reception and panel discussion. Scheduled panelists include:
Mark Blatt, Worldwide Medical Director, Intel;
Arman Sharafshahi, CEO, Accelarad;
Chip Strosnider, Director Business Technology Planning, Kaiser Permanente; and
Richard Novak, General Manager, Georgia, Cigna.
"As most in our field know, the healthcare industry will see dramatic changes in the next 10 years in terms of how medicine is practiced and delivered, particularly at the patient level," said Marc Olsen, Director of Operations at WellStar Health System and moderator of the event. "Ultimately, these changes will revolve around solutions that involve mobile technologies and the use of 'Big Data.' I'm looking forward to exploring at the event how the public is becoming more engaged with their health via these technologies, and how access is being dramatically improved for underserved communities."
The TAG Health program will open with a dynamic, live demonstration of mobile health technologies in action, followed by a panel of senior leaders noted above, representing care providers, healthcare IT startups, technology giants and insurance companies. The evening will conclude with an exploration of the dollars and sense of mobile health, with a particular focus on viable sustainable business models.
