TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS), a provider of mobile communication technology, announced that it will showcase its portfolio of cyber security solutions and expertise in cyber security redirection at three September events: 2013 NICE Workshop, Hacker Halted 2013 and DerbyCon 3.0.
According to a release, at the 2013 NICE Workshop in Gaithersburg, MD, TCS Web Developer Christopher Barr is presenting "Becoming an Active Cyber Defender to Help Protect the Cyber Community." Barr's presentation is a part of the Track Four Poster Sessions on September 19 from 2:05 p.m.-3 p.m.
The company noted that as part of Hacker Halted 2013, which takes place September 19-21 in Atlanta, TCS is sponsoring a "Capture the Flag" competition. Attendees of Hacker Halted are eligible to participate in this single-elimination competition where they can attempt to infiltrate a fictitious foreign government network to defeat a terrorist group. Utilizing their decades of experience in cyber security, instructors of TCS' Art of Exploitation curriculum created this competition.
Additionally, at DerbyCon 3.0, which takes place September 25-29 in Louisville, KY, TCS CNO Trainer/Instructor Brendan Watters and TCS CNO Engineer Nathan Magniez will be presenting to the technical cyber security community. On September 27 from 6:30 p.m.-6:55 p.m., Magniez will discuss "ANOTHER Log to Analyze Utilizing DNS to Discover Malware in Your Network," and on September 28 from 1 p.m.-1:50 p.m., he will discuss "Alice Goes Deeper (Down the Rabbit Hole) Redirection 2.0," which will cover the latest on the topic of redirection and how to use it to send exploit packets to the end target. On September 29 from 1 p.m.-1:50 p.m., Watters will present "A SysCall to ARMs," which will explore how to create a simple socket program written in ARM assembly. TCS is also exhibiting at DerbyCon and invites attendees to stop by and learn about the company's cyber security services.
