China Mobile likely to build information filtering mechanism
BEIJING, Sep 10, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) --
China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK) is
likely to build an information filtering mechanism to block its
customers from the information that they claim unwillingness to
receive, the telecom news portal cctime.com reports on Wednesday.
Ning Yu, an official from the business support department of China
Mobile, has disclosed that the telecom operator has been required by
a related authority to build such a mechanism and put the information
complained by customers into a data base for blocking.
Statistics show that China Mobile shut down an average 21,000
mobile phone numbers sending spam messages every month in 2012, down
38.5 percent year on year, and dealt with an average 249,000 customer
complaints on spam messages every month, 40.8 percent less than that
in 2011. (Edited by Li Xiaoyu, Lixy@xinhua.org)
