China Mobile puts public cloud service project into trial operation

China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK) had
checked and accepted the first phase engineering of the public cloud
service trial project, and put it into trial operation, the telecom
news portal C114.net reported on Wednesday.
The project was the company's first commercialized cloud computing
project, involving a series of public cloud services such as the
The first phase engineering of this project was undertaken by
Guangdong Mobile, the local branch of the largest telecom operator,
which completed the construction of a public cloud service platform
in the company's southern base.
The platform consisted of 1,000 servers, 210 units of network
equipment and 4 units of large data storage equipment. For enterprise
customers and Internet customers, it mainly based on IaaS
(Infrastructure as a Service) mode to provide cloud computing
services , including virtual machine leasing, virtual machine backup,
online cloud storage, elastic block storage, bandwidth leasing,
elastic public IP, virtual firewall and cloud monitoring.
