AT&T to launch Moto X on 23 August 2013

US communications holding company AT&T (NYSE:T) on Friday announced the availability of the new Moto X smartphone on 23 August 2013.
This customisable version of Moto X is reportedly the first smartphone designed by customers, assembled in the US, and available only for AT&T.
At the launch, customers can begin their Moto X customisation at AT&T stores and through www.att.com/MotoX. Woven white and woven black models will also be available. In addition, starting 19 August 2013, AT&T will offer a few lucky customers who registered at www.att.com/MotoX an opportunity to design and receive their Moto X before the general public.
Using Moto Maker, customers can customise their Moto X by selecting colour options for the front and back, accent colours for the power key, volume key and camera ring, adding a name or a short message on the back of the phone, unique wallpapers, custom power-on message and memory capacity of 16GB or 32GB
Once designed and purchased, the custom device will be assembled in the US and shipped to customers for free in four days or less.
The Moto X, which runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), features a 4.7-inch HD display, Touchless Control tuned to the user's voice, a Quick Capture function making the 10 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and 2 megapixel front-facing camera easier to use and Active Display. Also, with a new accessory called Motorola Skip, users can unlock their phones with a single tap.
In addition, AT&T recently launched AT&T Next, a new programme that gives customers the chance to get a new device every year.
Moto X will be available from AT&T at a price of USD199.99 for the 16 GB Moto X and USD249.99 for 32 GB Moto X with a two-year agreement. With AT&T Next, the 16 GB model is available for USD27 per month and the 32 GB model is USD32 per month.
