Mitsubishi UFJ Global Custody Utilizes 'CipherCloud for Salesforce'Jul 19, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- CipherCloud, Inc., a company in cloud encryption and the partner for the product in Japan, SunBridge Corp., announced that Mitsubishi UFJ Global Custody and its subsidiary, Mitsubishi UFJ Global Custody Japan, Co., adopted CipherCloud as their cloud data encryption technology for the use of Salesforce.com. According to a release, Mitsubishi UFJ Global Custody is a group company involved in the fund management business and global custody business of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. As for the business operations of the company, Mitsubishi UFJ Global Custody had been considering the use of Salesforce.com; however, the convenience of sharing information between locations while ensuring security had been a problem. But, as a result of adopting "CipherCloud for Salesforce" delivered by SunBridge for their data protection solution, the company was able to achieve strong security and efficient operational management in order to resolve the problem. Specifically, the information stored in Salesforce.com is replaced with a string of gibberish by going through the CipherCloud for Salesforce encryption gateway, the company said. When accessing data by using e-mail or Web browser, it is impossible to obtain the correct information stored in the cloud unless it does not go through the encryption gateway. Pravin Kothari, CEO of CipherCloud, said, "Interest in data protection is increasing in European countries including Luxembourg, and the companies and governments could not receive the advantage of the cloud technologies and services in terms of economics and other benefits without CipherCloud." Kothari also mentioned, "CipherCloud collaborates with our partner, SunBridge, and we resolve the issues of data privacy, data residency, data security and compliance for Mitsubishi UFJ Global Custody and other enterprises." CipherCloud noted that its platform protects multiple cloud applications, including Salesforce.com, Force.com, Chatter, Google Gmail, Microsoft Office 365, Box and Amazon Web Services and 365. Additionally, CipherCloud Connect AnyApp and Database Gateway enable organizations to extend data protection to hundreds of third-party cloud and private cloud applications and databases.
