BUYINS.NET: Market Maker Surveillance Report. COP, EBAY, C, EMC, HAL, PWEI, Bearishly Biased Price Friction For Friday, April 19th 2013

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3968 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3229 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1858 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP), eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY), Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C), EMC Corp (NYSE:EMC), Halliburton Co (NYSE:HAL), PW EAGLE INC (OTC:PWEI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction COP $-0.030 -0.05% 2,160,295 34.11% 1,271,723 20.08% 888,572 Abnormal EBAY $-0.440 -0.83% 8,444,306 54.47% 6,924,880 44.67% 1,519,426 Abnormal C $-0.100 -0.22% 7,229,858 30.96% 5,610,657 24.03% 1,619,201 Abnormal EMC $-0.870 -3.89% 17,137,652 31.50% 14,460,343 26.58% 2,677,309 Abnormal HAL $-0.310 -0.83% 6,566,777 32.85% 4,950,492 24.76% 1,616,285 Abnormal PWEI $-0.016 -9.65% 2,150,419 38.41% 377,403 6.74% 1,773,016 Abnormal Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows COP with 888,572 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.03000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
