iDigi Renamed as Device Cloud by Etherios

Apr 22, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Digi International announced that it will rebrand its iDigi Device Cloud as Device Cloud by Etherios. Etherios, a division of Digi International and a Salesforce.com Cloud Alliance Platinum Partner, is a cloud computing services provider with a longstanding track record of helping organizations realize and implement their cloud strategy.

According to a release, the rebranding emphasizes that Device Cloud, a strategic element for organizations that wish to connect their devices to mission-critical applications, works with any manufacturers' hardware.

"Etherios' services were born as cloud-based solutions, so the brand's roots allow us to re-emphasize our focus on enabling connectivity to any manufacturers' hardware," said Larry Kraft, senior vice president of marketing, Digi International. "The Device Cloud was designed from the ground up to connect any device, to any application, anywhere in the world." In addition to the new name, users will notice a new logo and color scheme. The platform will continue to offer device-agnostic management, data streaming, open application programming interfaces (APIs) and security features.

Digi International is an M2M company, combining products and services as solutions to drive business efficiencies.
