TerraSpark Geosciences Enhances Insight EarthApr 11, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- TerraSpark Geosciences said that it has further enhanced Insight Earth's performance from the exponential increase in speed it recently released in the 1.8 version, which reduced fault extraction times from 5 full days of compute time to 20 minutes - a 360X speed-up for a 1 GB 3D seismic volume. The Fault Interpretation Workflow has further been streamlined so it takes fewer steps to go from 3D seismic amplitude volume to a complete set of fault surfaces - all in just minutes. Curtain slices have been updated and perpendicular slices created to save interpreters' time and enable them to delve into complex 3D seismic systems, such as Mass Transport Complexes and Carbonate Reefs. According to a release, 1.9 further accelerates Insight Earth's turbo-charged applications when used with Nvidia's newer Kepler generation graphics cards. It also supports 16-bit data, enhancing Insight Earth's compatibility with other major 3D seismic interpretation systems, the company said.
