C.W. Thomas Teams with IQMS
Mar 22, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
IQMS, a manufacturing ERP software and MES developer with an ongoing, proactive commitment to its product and relationships, announced that C.W. Thomas, has joined forces with IQMS.
A vacuum/pressure former that serves the transportation, aerospace, industrial and medical markets, C.W. Thomas partnered with IQMS based on the ERP provider's customer references, and industry specificity.
According to the company, C.W. Thomas' legacy ERP system was outdated - the company was operating on a DOS-based software combined with Excel spreadsheets. The homegrown Excel spreadsheets did not link to each other, resulting in redundant data entry, no transparency and a loss of productivity from the extra work the spreadsheets incurred. Additionally, shop floor control and inventory management was a manual effort, prompting C.W. Thomas to begin the search.
"The other two ERP packages we considered offered more than we needed in areas that were not relevant to our industry," said Robert Brennan, vice president of operations at C.W. Thomas. "IQMS has demonstrated that it is an A-1 company to work with, offering knowledgeable resources and an industry-specific solution for our company."
Establishing itself as a thermoformer in the manufacturing industry, C.W. Thomas has received a series of accolades over the past few years: 2009 Medical Device Excellence Award supplier, certified Sony green partner and the 2011 Greater Philadelphia Manufacturer of the Year. C.W. Thomas will implement IQMS' ERP software system, plus MES offerings including preventative maintenance, ShopData shop floor solution and RealTime Production Monitoring modules.
"Due to the combination of our ERP and MES software, C.W. Thomas is going to experience a greatly improved way of conducting business with detailed communication between all of its departments," said Glenn Nowak, vice president at IQMS. "The transparency and enterprise-wide interconnectivity that EnterpriseIQ offers will help support C.W. Thomas as they grow in the future."
