Microsoft's Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award Given to Manager at Professional Services Firm Rand Group
Houston, TX, Mar 13, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) --
Rand Group prides itself on employing the best of the best in all aspects of professional services, accounting, and technology. Building a dedicated firm with enthusiastic team members who truly love what they do is a big part of the corporate culture at Rand Group. The award of Microsoft's MVP to Manager, Teresa Burger is further testament to that.
This is the 3rd consecutive year Burger has received a Microsoft MVP Award, which demonstrates her continued success in keeping up with technology while contributing to the community around her. In her over 10 years of experience, she has not only focused her time and attention on developing her own skill set, but also on mentoring people new to the technology sector, and guiding them to success. She provides meaningful contributions to online forums, and enjoys organizing local events to build community such as Cowtown Code Camp and Technically Speaking. She also volunteers time to national organizations that encourage students in engineering such as First Robotics Competition and Boys and Girls Club of Arlington. Teresa Burger is truly a huge contributor to the technical community in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
"I take this award very seriously; it's quite an honor. Not only is the MVP Award a huge acknowledgment of the work that a contributor has done but it also opens up a world of opportunities. As a known community leader, the Microsoft product teams ask you for input to answer questions they have, report problems, and send them ideas. Once a year you are invited to the Microsoft Campus where you get to personally interact with other MVP's and people on the product teams. There you are sitting in a room with the people at Microsoft and the brilliant community contributors who build these technologies, and interacting with them as peers. It's humbling to look around the room and know you're being regarded for your accomplishments by people who you look up too. You build relationships with these people and soon are brain storming new ideas and corresponding long after the event. If you have a problem, you have a rolodex of big names that are there to help. It's a huge achievement for me," says Burger, Manager at Rand Group.
Moving forward, Burger says she plans to focus her attention on developing for HTML 5, with a multi-platform focus, and she would also like to write a course on Windows 8 development in HTML 5. Part of her MVP award means the product development team at Microsoft can utilize her experience out in the field to help them determine what end-users want, which she takes very seriously.
"I enjoy really listening to what people like and dislike, what works for them and what doesn't, functionality they would like to see and the like; then helping make those thing happen, either by connecting them with another community member or bringing that feedback to the product teams. Being a part of technical solutions, that's really exciting to me," adds Burger.
Her overall commitment to the Microsoft technology platform, coupled with her dedication to the community in her local area, makes her a valuable and effective part of Rand Group's team. The Most Valuable Professional designation from Microsoft gives thanks to those independent community leaders who share their personal knowledge, passion and technical expertise of Microsoft technologies with those around them, and do so in a meaningful and impactful way.
