USQ develops 'virtual internet' system for prisoners

Mar 05, 2013 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) will modify its Moodle online learning system to ensure that students can learn without access to the internet. A $A217,000 Office for Learning and Teaching grant will be used to produce a Moodle service that can be accessed via DVD or flash drive. The offline Moodle technology will be tested by prisoners studying USQ's Tertiary Preparation Program at the Southern Queensland Correctional Centre.
