Media groups defend joint deals

Feb 28, 2013 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Last-minute revisions to the Federal Government's plans for editorial regulation and limits on media ownership are causing growing apprehension at media groups. The Australian Greens are wary of stipulating how media groups can forge partnerships or outsource production. Communications Minister Stephen Conroy recently suggested ways to prevent news and current affairs from being outsourced by free-to-air TV networks. This led to accusations by News Limited and Ten Network of government intrusion.
