Fixmo and Fiberlink Team on Integrated Solution for Defense-Grade Mobile Device Management and Security
Feb 25, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Fixmo, a provider of defense-grade mobile security solutions, and Fiberlink, a company focusing on cloud-based solutions for enterprise mobility, announced a partnership that will enable customers in the public and private sector to deploy Fixmo's FIPS 140-2 secure email, data containerization and device integrity verification solutions as integrated components of Fiberlink's FISMA-certified MaaS360 enterprise mobility platform.
According to a release, government agencies and regulated enterprises are expanding their use of smartphones, tablets and mobile apps as mission-critical business tools for their employees in the field. But as they do so, they face complex challenges related to device and user management, application security, and regulatory compliance that often cannot be solved through a single vendor solution. Fixmo and Fiberlink have teamed up to address this challenge by bringing together government-grade solutions for mobile security and device management.
"Agencies across the US Government are now looking to reap the benefits of modern mobile working in a secure, scalable and cost-effective manner," said Jeff Ward, Vice President of Federal Sales at Fiberlink. "By bringing together our best-of-breed enterprise mobility solutions, Fiberlink and Fixmo can now offer Government customers a no-compromise approach for device management, application security, and policy compliance to enable the next wave of mobile computing in Government."
As a result of the partnership announced, customers will now be able to deploy MaaS360, Fixmo SafeZone, and Fixmo Sentinel Integrity Services as an integrated solution set with centralized administration and policy management through the MaaS360 platform.
With MaaS360 from Fiberlink, customers can configure smartphones and tablets over the air, enforce security policies on mobile devices, centrally manage and distribute mobile apps, and monitor their entire mobility deployment through a highly scalable cloud-based solution. The Department of Commerce, Department of the Interior, the General Services Administration (GSA) and other federal agencies trust MaaS360 as their enterprise MDM solution, enabling them to meet Office of Management and Budget (OMB) goals for Continuous Monitoring, Green IT, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), Cloud First and Shared Services.
Fixmo SafeZone is the defense-grade secure workspace and messaging solution that keeps all corporate email, browsing, documents and apps securely contained from the personal side of a mobile device and protected with FIPS 140-2 AES 256-bit data encryption, two-factor authentication, and dynamic IT policy controls. Fixmo Sentinel Integrity Services is a patented integrity verification solution for detecting and preventing mobile device OS tampering, policy violations, and the presence of unverified third party apps.
"Our customers in both the public and private sector are now embracing a wide range of smartphones, tablets and mobile apps for much more than just email and calendaring," said Randy Siegel, Senior Vice President of Government Sales at Fixmo. "We are thrilled to be partnering with Fiberlink to ensure our joint customers and partners can fully embrace the next wave of mobility in a cost-effective, flexible and compliant manner with proven government-grade technologies."
Fixmo and Fiberlink will be demonstrating their enterprise mobility management and security solutions at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 25th - 28th.
