Vormetric to Showcase Cryptographic Key Management Interoperability at RSA Conference
Feb 25, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Vormetric, a member of the OASIS Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) Technical Committee, will be demonstrating support for a security standard at next week's RSA Conference.
Vormetric, a company focusing on enterprise data security for physical, virtual and cloud environments, will exhibit its implementation of the KMIP 1.1 standard. The assurance of interoperability to manage other client keys enables Vormetric's customers to minimize business risk by preventing encryption management silos.
According to Ashvin Kamaraju, vice president of product development at Vormetric, "OASIS KMIP is widely recognized as the leading industry protocol for key management between an encryption client and a key management server. This standard is expected to enjoy rapid industry adoption, and we are delighted to be demonstrating our support for it at RSA."
Vormetric's demonstration will focus on how KMIP contributes to a single, protocol for communication between encryption systems and a broad range of new and legacy enterprise applications, including email, databases and storage devices. The exposition will showcase how Vormetric Data Security enables client programs - implemented by various vendors - to leverage the KMIP version 1.1 protocol to communicate securely across the full key management life cycle.
According to the company, the OASIS KMIP booth at RSA Conference will exhibit essential use cases, such as generating cryptographic keys, locating existing keys, transferring symmetric and asymmetric keys and certificates between vendor systems and retrieving, registering and deleting keys.
"Cloud service providers and large enterprises are focused on protecting what matters wherever it resides in their infrastructure," Kamaraju added. "The OASIS consortium ensures that the most advanced encryption and key management solutions are following the standard to guarantee compatibility over time. Our participation in OASIS's demo program continues to validate and strengthen our leadership in advanced security intelligence."
The RSA Conference will be held at San Francisco's Moscone Center February 25 through March 1.
