Numerex buys assets and know-how of AVIDwireless

Feb 22, 2013 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Numerex Corp (NASDAQ: NMRX) has announced the purchase of the assets and business of AVIDwireless, including intellectual property and know-how, that will support the development of Numerex next-generation M2M platforms and managed services.

AVIDwireless established a solid reputation in the M2M industry with regard to innovative and carrier-grade engineering solutions to enterprise. Customers served by AVIDwireless typically require rapid development of mobile and M2M applications to manage complex, interdependent multi-device industrial M2M deployments, which need on-site intelligence and equipment management as well as reporting, alerting, and alarming protocols.

Ease-of-use and rapid deployment are key attributes of AVIDwireless development initiatives that are provided through plug-and-play wireless remote control and monitoring solutions.
