CentraComm Expands IT Networking and Security Offerings with Palo Alto Networks Managed Services
Findlay, Ohio, Feb 21, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) --
CentraComm, a leading managed IT security and network services company, announced today that it has expanded its technology offerings to include next-generation firewall provider Palo Alto Networks.
"The proliferation of applications running on web services has created a lack of deep visibility into network traffic. This creates a challenge for IT administrators to identify inefficiencies on the network," said Greg Miller, Chief Information Officer for CentraComm. "Palo Alto's App-ID engine is state-of-the-art in its ability to identify those applications providing the deep introspection that IT administrators need to streamline network efficiency and reduce costs while providing a highly secure network."
Palo Alto Networks addresses the shortcomings associated with traditional firewalls by combining three identification technologies that provide visibility and control over applications, users, and content. App-ID identifies exactly which applications are running on the network, as well as the associated risks, so administrators can deploy comprehensive application usage control policies for inbound and outbound network traffic. User-ID integrates with enterprise directory services to link network activity to users and groups--not just IP addresses--for application visibility, policy creation, logging and reporting. Content-ID combines a real-time threat prevention engine with a comprehensive URL database to detect and block a wide range of threats, limit unauthorized transfer of files and data, and control non-work related Web surfing.
CentraComm's status as a Palo Alto Networks Partner marks the most recent step in an ongoing process of growth based on expanding product lines and geographic reach. CentraComm is forecasting continued significant revenue and profit expansion in 2013 and beyond.
"Our vertical market segments as well as our overall geographic reach continue to grow, demonstrating our strong reputation and the competitive strength of our offerings including our most recent addition of our Palo Alto Networks managed service offering," said Mark Prevost, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for CentraComm.
"As Palo Alto's next generation firewall continues to push the entire firewall market forward, there are only a very limited number of companies able to offer the robust managed service offering that CentraComm is. We're thrilled that our deep security expertise has been a catalyst for Palo Alto Networks to choose CentraComm as one of their elite class of 'go-to partners,'" said Prevost.
