Nextivity Applauds Federal Communications Commission Signal Boosters Decision
SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)--
Nextivity
Inc., a leading developer of in-building coverage technology,
applauds the Federal Communications Commission's decision today to
provide greater regulatory certainty to wireless signal booster
manufacturers. The FCC's (News - Alert) decision strikes a careful balance between the
needs of signal booster manufacturers to have the flexibility to design
and deploy these products, and the needs of carriers to minimize the
potential for interference with their network operations. The order
shows the FCC's commitment to ensuring the ongoing availability of
signal boosters, and is an important step in ensuring that all
stakeholders have the regulatory clarity needed to continue to promote
the innovation and development of this important sector. The decision
also marks another step in the FCC's commitment to promote the
availability of broadband Internet services in the United States.
Nextivity's CEO, Werner Sievers, stated: "The FCC staff worked
tirelessly on this order, brought numerous stakeholders together,
developed a set of technical rules with the support of the industry, and
secured the consent of several major wireless carriers for the use of
signal boosters in their licensed frequencies. We thank the FCC for its
commitment to seeing this proceeding through to its conclusion." The
FCC's decision today will provide Nextivity the flexibility it needs to
continue to develop advanced commercial and consumer signal boosters in
the future, and the company looks forward to working with the FCC in the
future to educate our customers about the use of our signal boosters.
