CloudSpokes Grows 240 Percent in Two Years, Provides Enterprises and Software Vendors With Scalable Cloud Development Capacity
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Feb 20, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
CloudSpokes, the leader in crowdsourced cloud development, recently
celebrated its two year anniversary with a number of milestones,
including a revamped online experience and a new Spokes program that
enables select Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partners to create
private developer communities on CloudSpokes.
"Enterprises and vendors alike are now embracing crowdsourcing as an
innovative, cost effective method of development and project
delivery," said Mike Morris, general manager of CloudSpokes. "During
the last two years, CloudSpokes has become a powerful, global
platform that is fundamentally changing the way customers approach
problems and think about innovation in cloud development. Its ability
to reduce the cost of development and double development productivity
is a huge win for customers, partners and the industry."
Recent Milestones
-- Spokes, CloudSpokes' new partner environment for companies committed
to the crowdsourcing model, has signed on elite partners that have
committed to the CloudSpokes model, including SmartSheet and Mesh01.
Spokes provides private environments for partners to enable community
engagement with their APIs. For example, the community's most recent
partner, SmartSheet, joined Spokes to expand its core product.
-- CloudSpokes has more than 72,000 members in 100+ countries,
specializing in cloud and mobile platforms including AWS, Google,
Heroku and Twilio.
-- A number of universities, including DIU and AAU, are creating private
communities on CloudSpokes for students to build skills and
demonstrate experience by participating in challenges open to only
their network.
-- The community has helped create tools and applications to address
common enterprise needs at low cost and in record time. Examples
include:
-- Mobile apps for leading ISVs: A series of mobile applications and
extensions for partners such as Box and DocuSign, including an
accounting, time and billing suite for the iPad and iPhone.
-- Franchise management: A 'Franchise Management Starter Kit,'
providing franchises and franchise owners with resources to
communicate and share common resources.
-- Online support system: JDRF is rebuilding their entire web-based
support system for their Online Diabetes Support Team to create a
cutting-edge support network for people with Type 1 Diabetes.
-- CloudSpokes has relaunched its website with a new developer portal to
make it easier for members to sign-up, log-in, participate in contests
and provide peer reviews. The website development and design was
itself crowdsourced: with 25 CloudSpokes contests, and 44 unique
participants across 12 different countries.
