Star Micronics Introduces the "i" Series of iOS Compatible Bluetooth Printers

Keeping up with the rapid pace of mobile technologies is a
challenge many businesses face on a daily basis. To help alleviate
the stress of keeping up with mobile technologies, Star Micronics is
proud to offer end-users its "i" Series family of iOS compatible
Bluetooth printers dedicated to mobile POS printing solutions. The
members of this mobile-friendly series are the SM-S220i, SM-T300i,
SM-T400i and TSP650II BTi.
The SM-S220i is the Star's first portable Bluetooth printer to be MFi
certified by Apple for use with its iPad(R), iPhone(R) and iPod
touch(R). Not only can Star's SM-S220i printer pair with iOS devices
but it also supports the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP), meaning
it can pair with devices running most other common operating systems
including Windows(R) and Android(TM). As one of the first printers
available with both of these Bluetooth technologies in one device,
the SM-S220i will make it easier for resellers to offer a simple
hardware solution to merchants that is compatible with all of the
popular mobile platforms.
Star's SM-T300i (three inch printing) and SM-T400i (four inch
printing) iOS compatible Bluetooth portable printers are ruggedized
versions of the SM-S220i. Their rugged and water-resistant design
coupled with long battery life makes the SM-T300i and SM-T400i
welcomed options for any environment. The SM-T300i, available at the
end of the month, allows for restaurant servers and clerks working in
demanding retail and hospitality environments to print standard three
inch format receipts wherever they need to, and the SM-T400i's four
inch format is ideal for law enforcement to use in issuing
e-citations. The SM-T400i will be available in early Q2. The iOS
compatible, SM-T300i and SM-T400i seamlessly makes the task of mobile
printing in a demanding work environment easy.
Last but not least is the TSP650II BTi, Star's first desktop MFi
certified Bluetooth printer. Available in March 2013, it offers the
convenience of mobile accessibility with high reliability and
lightning fast print. Fully equipped with a Bluetooth interface,
"drop in and print" paper loading, small footprint and reliable
guillotine cutter, the TSP650II BTi is a welcomed addition to POS
systems, ideal for retail establishments and restaurants.
