More firms targets of malicious cyber hits
Feb 18, 2013 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) --
CERT Australia, the national computer emergency response team, has issued its "Cyber Crime and Security Survey Report" for 2012. It shows that over 20% of large corporations nationwide were the victims of cyber attacks during the year, despite their widespread use of firewalls, anti-virus software and other counter-measures. Of those affected, some 20% did not contact the authorities, in order to avoid negative publicity. Federal Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus says the attacks are becoming more targeted.
